On November 1, 2013 The Fauquier Health Board of Directors and LifePoint Hospitals® finalized their joint venture agreement to share ownership and operation of Fauquier Health. The joint venture will bring $52.8 million in capital investments to Fauquier Health over the next 10 years.
The joint venture also provided more than $150 million to fund the charitable Fauquier Health Foundation to support crucial community needs. The Fauquier Health Foundation Board of Directors convened for the first time on November 20, 2013. The 2013 Community Benefit Report is now available. In 2016 the Fauquier Health Foundation changed their name but not their mission. The new name is PATH Foundation.
The PATH Foundation is located at:
The Fauquier hospital staff takes great pride in providing nurturing, patient-centered care. Family and friends are welcome anytime, day or night, and each of the 97 patient rooms is designed as a single-occupancy room with a bed for a caregiver to spend the night.
“Hospital food” is also out-of-the-ordinary at Fauquier Health; The Bistro on the Hill provides food options for patients and their guests. Earning a reputation of its own in Warrenton, Virginia, the Bistro serves everything from brick-oven pizza to gourmet pasta, from a fresh soup and salad bar to shrimp stir-fry. Bakers keep the dessert case filled with fresh cakes and pies, cookies and tarts. Community groups frequently congregate at The Bistro, and catering for off-site events is available.
Fauquier Hospital was among the first five in the nation – and the only one in Virginia – to claim the patient-centered care designation.
What does this mean? Fauquier Hospital has been recognized nationwide for doing the most advanced work in patient-centered care. The hospital was judged on more than 40 specific criteria, relating to quality of care and the ways in which that care is delivered.
Becoming a Planetree-designated site was, for Fauquier Hospital, not an end, but a beginning. The hospital’s administration and staff continue to strive for patient-centered innovation.
In support of our local community and to assist in the development of future health care professionals, Fauquier Health partners with local colleges and universities to serve as a clinical rotation site for students in established programs of study.
